How a Slidepod fits in your VW Transporter
The Slidepod GEN 4 casing system with its adjustable height sides has been configured to work in all types of VW Transporters (and in fact most other small to medium sized vans) The casing has multiple fixing points which allow unit to work with either the factory fitted lashing points or the rail system, ensuring a safe and secure system.
VW California Beach or Caravelle
For a Caravelle or the California Beach or vans that have the genuine VW rail system with the triple bench seat installed, the Slidepod casing unit attaches directly onto the rail system using a specific fixing kit.
The seat slides backwards to meet the casing system to form your full width bed.
When purchasing a Slidepod for a VW Beach or VW Caravelle no bed board upgrade is required.
VW Kombi van
In the VW Transporter Kombi van the casing unit is secured down to the four lashing points that are already installed in the van. A combination of a bolt and strapping system is used keep the casing unit from moving. The optional bed board system attaches to the casing to create a super comfy king size bed.
All gen 4 Slidepod casings come with a full length bed set up (recommended 1860 x 1450mm) for VW Transporter Kombi's this means that in a SWB van the bed can be used with the rear seats in situ or equally they can be removed and the bed will still function. In a LWB kombi the bed can actually be fully set up behind the rear seats with the rear seats in their upright position.
VW Transporter Shuttle
If you have a SWB Shuttle van, the Slidepod works with the rear row of seats removed. The bed system works in conjunction with the middle row of seats.
For a LWB Shuttle, the rear seats are utilised for the bed. This allows the option of the middle seats to be removed if required to give extra living space.
In both variants the pod casing is secured to the factory floor lashing points using a combination of a bolt and strapping system.
VW Panel van
The casing unit is secured down to the four lashing points that are allready installed in the van. A combination of a bolt and strapping system is used to keep the casing safe and secure. An additional bed board is attached to the front of the casing to create a full length, totally flat 1860 x 1450mm bed platform.
VW T7 Multivan - SWB & LWB
The casing system simply attaches to the rail system in the van using a fixing kit that is supplied. The optional bed boards work in conjunction with or without the 3 single seats to form a full width 1300mmx 1860mm bed system.
