Slidepods made it down for the Saturday evening and Sunday of the Cornwall Jamboree and I think we brought the rain with us! Unfortunately we couldn’t make the Friday and Saturday due to making preparations for the next round of Slidepods productions starting on Tuesday (very exciting, keep you eyes glued for new photos of the latest pods). We were very kindly accommodated in the trade area and set our van up with the sun setting beautifully in the background.
We woke up the following morning to lots of rain, thanks to our Khyam Kamper Cosi we hadn’t noticed the rain overnight at all. The rain didn’t phase us though; tailgate up, Slidepod out, coffee on and we were good to go, nice and sheltered. We were parked up with an excellent view of the show and shine behind us so had a good chance to see some very beautiful VW’s. Despite the rain, the atmosphere was great and there was a good turn out, we met some lovely people and hopefully got a lot of people interested in our pods and what we are doing.
We are looking forward to coming back to the VW Cornwall Jamboree (and a lot of the other shows too) next year bigger and better…. See you there 🙂
Slidepods are really excited to be working with Sails & Canvas to produce a range of accessories for your campervans. Products are in the development stage currently so keep your eyes peeled to our facebook page and this Blog page for all the latest updates. Sails & Canvas are a fabulous company local to us based in Topsham, Devon. They have similar values and believe in producing great work with quality products. They are makers of handmade, recycled sailcloth products, made from sails that have passed their ‘sail by date’! They also do sail valeting, sail repairs and bespoke canvas and cover work. We believe the materials they use are perfect for camper accessories as they are, tough, heard wearing, wipe clean and washable whilst looking great.
One of the first products to be produced is a Porta Potti cover, available in wide range of colours so allowing you to discretely store your Porta Potti in your van. Pictures will be available within the next 2 weeks…. In the mean time here are a few pictures of Ronnie – our Slidepods van (and Jane and Esme) in Topsham…
Great news, we are in the news! Outandaboutlive.co.uk, the umbrella website for ‘MMM’ magazine (Motorhome and Motor Caravan Monthly Magazine) and ‘Which Motorhome’ magazine, have featured Slidepods in their news. We are feeling very special to be involved with outandaboutlive.co.uk as they are the number 1 magazine for motorhomers, campers and caravanners so allowing us reaching out to bigger audiences all the time.
Exciting times, Slidepods are about to begin the next round of pod production on the 1st September. All those who have their deposits in by Monday 24th can expect their brand new perfect pods by the end of September. Bring on an Indian Summer to make the most of the rest of 2015 with the Slidepod.
There is still time to get your order in for this production run if you are very quick, deposits accepted up until August 24th. But don’t worry if you miss this, it wont be long until the next run.
Its was a beautiful Thursday afternoon and with an evening of house cleaning and cooking dinner beckoning, when Jonny suggested heading out for a night in the van to Salcombe in the South Hams we all jumped at the idea. We grabbed a change of clothes for the morning, picked up some food to cook on the pod and threw the sleeping bags into Ronnie (our Slidespods T5 Caravelle with The Ultra pod) and we were ready for the off.
We drove down through the stunning South Hams to Hope cove where we discovered Bolberry House Farm campsite, a beautifully kept campsite in the rolling hills between Hope Cove and Salcombe. There were glorious views towards the ocean and a great site with loads of grassy play area for our son to run free safely.
Food was eaten, prosecco drunk, parents relaxed and children played
It was a little breezy up on this costal site, not a problem for The ultra campervan pod, we just attach our windbreak and we are ready to cook.
What a great evening……until……bedtime!! Over excited child, beautiful sunset and sleep are not an ideal combination so huge apologies to all those staying on the site that evening because I am sure it was not only us who had a terrible nights sleep!
Just time the following morning to indulge in a very necessary cup of coffee before the early dash back to get our son to nursery and us to work. Despite a night of disturbed sleep, being able to pack the van up in under 20mins and get out to such a beautiful spot for a lovely relaxed fun evening with the family is priceless. Bring on our next adventure.
